Steven Thames
Steven Thames is the Summer Youth Participant of the Year, nominated by the Santa Rosa County School District. Steven, age 18, worked in the Summer Youth Employment Program at Pen Air Federal Credit Union. He is a very dedicated young man and has now transitioned over to the Year-long Youth Program and continues to work at Pen Air Federal Credit Union while attending PJC, pursuing his Associates degree in Business. Steven is the president of the Florida African American Student Association and a member of the Baptist Collegiate Ministries. Last year he was nominated for the Future Business Leaders of America, and was one of five students selected to attend the annual conference in Tallahassee, Florida.

Jessica Mothershed
Jessica Mothershed, nominated by the Escambia County School District for Summer Youth Participant of the Year, is 18 years old and a Senior at Northview High School. She worked this summer at Navy Federal Credit Union and they were so impressed with her work, that she was offered a full-time job. Jessica is currently participating in training with Navy Federal Credit Union for her new job. Jessica's case manager said, "She is a hard worker and displays a tremendous amount of maturity. She gets along well with others, follows directions extremely well, and accepts constructive criticism with grace. She is honest and dependable and well deserving of this honor."
